प्रधानमंत्री ने शुक्रवार को कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ अभियान के तहत देश के नाम अपने संदेश में ‘अंधकार को चुनौती’ के रूप मे रविवार को रात नौ बजे नौ मिनट तक बिजली बंद करने और दीया, टार्च या मोबाइल से रोशनी करने की अपील की थी।
बिजली मंत्री आरके सिंह ने कहा, बिजली आपूर्ति में कमी (रैंप डाउन) और फिर बढ़ोतरी (रैंप अप) का काम सुचारू रूप से चला। अधिकारियों ने अच्छे तरीके से इसका प्रबंध किया। मैं और मेरे साथ वरिष्ठ अधिकारी, बिजली सचिव और पोस्को सीएमडी और नेशनल मॉनिटरिंग सेंटर से व्यक्तिगत रूप से स्थिति पर नजर रखे हुए थे। मैं एनएलडीसी (नेशनल लोड डिस्पैच सेंटर), आरएलडीसी (रीजनल लोड डिस्पैच सेंटर) और एसएलडीसी (स्टेट लोड डिस्पैच सेंटर) के सभी इंजीनियरों को स्थिति से बखूबी निपटने को लेकर बधाई देता हूं।
सिंह के अनुसार करीब चार-पांच मिनट के दौरान बिजली खपत 1,17,000 मेगावाट से कम होकर 85,300 मेगावाट रही। यह संभावित 12,0000 मेगावाट की कमी से कहीं अधिक थी। उन्होंने बिजली उत्पादन कंपनियों एनटीपीसी और एनएचपीसी की सराहना की। सिंह ने कहा कि पनबिजली क्षेत्र से अच्छा योगदान मिला। मंत्रालय के अनुसार लाइट बंद होने के बाद मांग में कमी के पश्चात 110 मेगावाट की बढ़ोतरी (रैंप अप) सुचारू रही। कहीं से भी बिजली में गड़बड़ी या बंद होने की घटना नहीं हुई।
बता दें कि ऐसी आशंका जताई गई थी कि प्रधानमंत्री की अपील पर रात नौ बजे से नौ मिनट तक घरों में बल्ब, ट्यूबलाइट बंद होने से बिजल ग्रिड पर प्रतिकूल असर पड़ेगा और बिजली व्यवस्था प्रभावित हो सकती है। हालांकि मंत्रालय ने साफ तौर पर कहा कि था कि देश की ग्रिड व्यवस्था मजबूत है और इस प्रकार की आशंकाएं निराधार हैं।~~~~In its message to the nation on Friday against the Corona virus, the Prime Minister had appealed to turn off the power for nine minutes at nine o'clock on Sunday night and light up with a lamp, torch or mobile phone as a 'challenge to the darkness'. Let it be said that it was feared that from 9 am to 9 minutes on the appeal of the Prime Minister, the shutdown of bulbs, tube lights in the houses would adversely affect the power grid and could affect the power system.
